Newstead Men's Shed aids a village in East Timor

When the “Friends of Lolotoe” from Castlemaine recently asked the Men’s Shed to help out with their campaign to assist the village of Lolotoe in East Timor, we jumped at the chance.

There was a need for new tools for the village to assist them improve their ability to grow crops in their market gardens at Lolotoe, and if they could demonstrate this in action the East Timor government would also provide aid.

So, the “Friends of Lolotoe” collected a range of second hand tools and at The Shed they were given a good clean, sharpened and given a paint job so that they looked as good as when they were new.
